sony vegas 8 or final cut express?
i like making videos to put on youtube and have found a bunch of people who use similar styles in their fan videos with famous people and music and graphics and masking, you know, all that stuff you see in edited fan videos. all of them seem to use sony vegas and they all have a similar look to them with shifting camera angles, changing color, posterizing and adding transitioning effects. i have a mac and right now and i was wondering if final cut does the same kind of stuff or if it is more for editing movies and adding special effects and things like that because i have heard that final cut pro is used by the movie industry but sony vegas is used by amateur fan video makers on youtube. i’m more of a youtube fan video person but i was wondering if final cut express/pro does similar things to sony vegas or if it is used mostly in different kinds of videos/movies.

Most of the better video programs including Sony Vegas and Final Cut Express and Pro can do various effects. You have to put in time to learn how to do things; a lot of the amateur videos are just done quickly with no consideration about whether this is any good. There can be huge difference between "cool effects" and "good video production."

Of course Sony Vegas is PC only. On the Mac you have the choices of Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro (very expensive) or Adobe Premier and After Effects.

Final Cut is a step up, like Premiere. They all, including vegas, are for editing video. You can do anything that you see done. You just need to learn how to do it. It takes a while but you will be more knowledgeable about the process. Vegas appears to have an easier learning curve than Premiere and Final Cut. With that, you get less control.

Use Sony Vegas, it does the job and it’s very "light" in the rendering part(remember to set a good compression, uncompressed avi takes Gbs just for 1 min :P)

Final cut express is pretty much the same as sony vegas. My friend BentPaperClip uses Final Cut and I use Vegas, and I know how to re-create all her effects(And shes like… a PRO) They are the same thing and neither is better then the other over all.

And I’m pretty sure that actual pros would use Adobe After Effects or something that costs 2000$+ instead of the 700$ of Vegas and Final Cut Zap | Jan 09, 2010

they "drift in a parking garage and yes there are ricers everywhere imagine a wallmart take out all the usefull stuff and fill it with car accessories that is the kind of attitude over there with cars, but gear heads aside the average japanese citizen vary greatly. are all americans the same same way everywhere else everybody is different. as far as that one intersection with thousands of people crossing its like that 24/7 and i doubt they could clear it for the time to film that scene so that part is probably faked then again tokyo is a bit more congested than the average american city so i doubt they filmed much of it on location anyway.

Sorry, not even close. Most of the race scenes were filmed in L A California ! So those places don’t exist in Tokyo. And Japanese teens don’t go around smashing up $250,000 sport cars.
There are race clubs in Tokyo, but nothing like you saw in the movie. Sorry to disappoint you.

Things to do in Merimbula NSW?
Im going on holiday in about a week to Lakes Enterance and Merimbula. I dont need to know about Lakes Enterance because im only staying the night there as a stop off(we’re driving). I want to know if any of you have been and what there is to do there. I know that you can go on helicopter rides and there is some wicked surf there but thats bout all i know.

Anything helpful would be greatly appreciated.
